My passion for the hobby of Aquaria has been one for over twenty-five years and counting. I starting with freshwater aquariums then afterwards the introduction of the wet/dry filter systems and finally reef aquariums. The purpose of my channel " Eddie's Reef Aquaria" has been a vision I have had for a long period of time in which I want to inform and educate the fellow reefers of the trails and errors I've made so as to save time and money in this hobby whether as a beginner, intermediate, or advance one.

Hi, first thanks for contacting me for info. These Gorgonians are found in most LFS, but I would get the ones that are photosynthetic, because when it comes to these you have to feed them a lot. When it comes to feeding this could raise your NO3 and PO4. Eddie

Hi I have 3 of these coming in and one already. I am worried that I wont be able to keep alive but coudlnt resist cheap bid I won them for! Anyway the problem is I dont think I have strong flow towards bottom of tank because wavemakers are on top and low flow on bottom. Looks like your tank is set the same. Most people set that way especially if they have sps H0w are you keeping them alive if they need a tank set like that?
Hi karennation3580, first I don't have them anymore, but when it comes to Gorgonians always get the photosynthetic ones. These which are non-photosynthetic are hard to keep and you must feed them a lot thus raising your NO3 and causing issues as a whole. Eddie

I am moving over zoas from my main tank to a new frag tank. They will be the first frags going in there! I am not sure how to handle it matching the lighting ect. I f it were shipped it would to acclimation but my frag tank has pretty much the same par everywhere because of the rack! I am in a big mess. I have to many corals coming in and not enough room in my tanks! I idint even consider that this is a new frag tank! I am only moving zoas though so hopefully it wont go as bad!
Hi KarenNation3580, when it comes to corals and acclimation the new data is to placed them where they are going to go no matter if PAR values are different. What I would do is; 1. Place them on the substrate for a period of time 2. if you have lights that have an acclimation mode use for say 30 days. COMING SOON: My 40 gal developed a leak on the bottom front panel so I decided to purchase a Red Sea Reefer G2 300 in which I will be back doing videos on the new build. Be looking out for the start 👍👍Eddie

Hi rajgill7576, basically, I would say that all powered foods are good for gorgonians. I personally like reefroids. Eddie

Yes, but you must check and look for a lower watt due to your tank is 25 gal vs mine which is 40 gal. Eddie

Montipora is one coral I struggle growing. Ive only had some that survived once for a few months but eventually died also. I think the two main steps are water quality & lighting.

Hi jackfry3990, it's a reagent, but not aware of any, although, like any other test you should always be careful when using any type of test kits when handling them.

I think I have this coral. It is not doing very well, but the green color looks healthy. I think it is being overgrown by either a pink sponge, or coraline, or both. Any tips
Hi, when you see this behavior the coral may not be happy in which what I would do is first check your water parameters and move it to a different position in your reef. Eddie. Hope this helped.

How mnay head does this guy have now? 7 years update.
I lost it, but now I have another one in which was two heads and now has four!
i dont have any fancy gear or refugium or anything and dont want to use nopox. I don t have an ato so my skimmer is hard to keep working. If I get one will skimming lower from 20? I am buying alot of reef gear now and renting a par meter. Whats a good cheap ato? I read water changes dosnt help much with nitrates
Hi Karen, If your tank is less than say 60 gallons you really don't need a skimmer and can get away with water changes. NO3 of 20 is fine but not higher! always remember every tank behaves different to different parameter's. I have the Tunze, but I really don't have a certain one to recommend for your needs. They all basically work the same. Eddie

Thanks and welcome, when it comes to the Kalk solution what you have to do is check your pH accordingly and adjust the dose. I was going by the instructions on the Kalk for my tank, but you should do a slow drip. Eddie
